In-House Kirksite Foundry

kirksite foundry

March 25, 2021

Our in-house Kirksite foundry allows for short lead-times for tooling and assembly when a quick turnaround is required. We have a pour capacity of 60,000 lbs. per casting and over 750,000 lbs. per month. Kirksite (zinc alloy) requires little machining to the molding surfaces and can be easily polished for a nice, smooth finish. This allows us to produce tooling for tight time schedules and incorporate changes quickly. Learn more about our kirksite foundry at https://www.qmc-emi.com/capabilities/foundry/

Joining Aluminum to Steel

March 17, 2021

We specialize in both manual and robotic welding, allowing us to customize the manufacturing process to give you the repeatability and flexibility you need. This includes working with unique metals, including joining aluminum to steel read more here about our sheet metal fabrication.

Manual welding, a traditional process, is a lower cost alternative for low volume projects and assembly tooling. It requires less programming and a shorter start-up time, instead relying on the decades of experience and training of our skilled craftsmen. Robotic welding is the technology based approach for welding programs that require high repeatability. There are many benefits of robotic welding, including reduced piece price over the life of the project, more robust processing in higher volume programs, and increased rate and flow.
